Da baietii cred ca au ajuns destul de departe.
Eu m-am hotarat sa astept vreo 2-3 ani, sunt aproape sigur ca vom avea un vfp.net.
Cei de la etecnologia.net ( si nu sunt singurii) deja au anuntat ca lucreaza la un nou ide pt. vfp, integrat in platforma.net , independent de vfp - practic toate functiile si comenzile sunt facute pe sintaxa vfp in C#. Va fi o clasa-limbaj in .net, se va folosi visual studio sau sharpdevelop pentru dezvoltare. Tot pe net am vazut si functii noi pe care vor sa le implementeze, (usesql tablename in odbc...
replace all field1 with "fff"

Imaginati-va ce usor va fi sa lucrezi cu orice baza de date in modul acesta, mai ales pentru depanari.
De asemenea vei putea programa asp in vfp.net.

Sunt prea multe aplicatii in vfp ca sa nu apara produse ce vor integra vfp in .net. Si va face bani frumosi prima companie care va reusi sa faca vfp.net.

In acest timp ma pun la punct si cu alte baze de date si cu C#, pentru ca daca voi lucra in visualstudio e bine sa sti cate ceva din fiecare.

linq are chestii care foxul le avea din anii 80.
Iar limbajul in sine (vorbesc de vfp) e usor de utilizat, iar eu vreau sa pot face un program repede si usor. Microsoft mai trebuie sa ofere ceva ca sa ma convinga. Cum zicea cineva Microsoft in loc sa lucreze pentru noi, vrea sa lucram noi pentru el. Unii vor accepta altii nu. Eu cred ca vfp va exista in viitor chiar ca si o clasa .net, nu ma deranjeaza daca pot programa in ceea ce stiu mai bine si voi avea facilitatile de lucru cu date, table cursoare..

Noutati legate de viitorul vfp.net

Acum cateva zile am scris celor de la Etecnologia - pentru cei care nu stiti ei vor face probabil viitorul vfp.net. Au cret un nou tablelayer pe 64 biti, fara limita celor 2GB/table, si va avea si securitate, fisiere log si recovery. Din cate am inteles nu va fi client server, insa se va putea accesa pe internet ca si web service. M-am gandit sa postez raspunsurile lui Samuel David. Ma bucura ca sunt destul de avansati, abia astept sa scoata versiunea beta: Samuel David, etecnologia: "First thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback about our Work. I want to assure you that we are fully committed to the tableLayer, because it makes a lot of sense in the small workgroups you mentioned and also even more in Mobile Devices, because, yes we'll have Fox apps running in devices as Smartphones and PDAs. Noutati, se apropie de 80% compilatorul .net

Cei de la etecnologia au anuntat ca sunt apropape de terminarea compilatorului. De asemenea vfp developer studio bazat pe sharp develop (ide open source pt .net) este pe drumul cel bun. Cititi pe google groups cam la ce lucreaza baietii. Pe youtube este un filmulet cu sharp develop si vfp.net. Speram sa finalizeze cat mai repede. Oricum au reusit intr-un timp record ceea ce MS au zis ca e imposibil. Pentru noi are fi grozav fiindca lucrul cu datele in C# e mult prea greu fata de vfp. Vom avea dupa spusele lor si designer visual pentru asp.net cu cod vfp! Sunt apropae de terminarea compilatorului (90%).
Au pus un update pe www.etecnologia.net printre care:
- command window la fel ca in vfp (nici un alt limbaj pe platforma.net nu are ceva similar dupa spusele lor)
- intelisense pt. comenzi si functii
- m. afiseaza toate variabilele
- pagina lor si in limba romana prin google translator
Dar cel mai bine vedeti pe site.

Am decis sa va tin la curent cu vfp.net - etecnologia
Au inclus in vfp developer studio si designerele pt scx/vcx.
Practic sunt 2 tipuri de forme, winforms si vfpforms. Vor fi 2 tipuri de controale, winforms controls si vfp controls, acestea din urma vor avea proprietatile si metodele cunoscute de noi, diferite de cele winforms. Dar pe o forma vfp vom putea adauga orice control, nu numai cele vfp ci si celelalte controale .net.
De asemenea vom avea mostenire visuala reala in designere. Can va veni ultimul update va voi tine la curent

Da, in septembrie va veni o versiune noua cu multe imbunatatiri la designere.
De asemenea in curand vor veni si partea de select sql si alte treburi legate de database. Si o veste buna pentru cei care nu au cumparat net extender (desi ar fi bine sa o faca ca sa-i suporte - nu e chiar usor sa faci un compilator si un ide...), spre sfarsitul lunii s-ar putea (cel putin asa am inteles de la cineva care tine legatura cu ei direct) ca sa dea free versiunea beta.
