Daca as fi avut cea mai mica idee ca o sa ne-o (mi-o) traga in halul asta, as fi stat in banca mea.

In acest moment caut alt speaker.

Hi John!

Wow, your message is a real suprise :) Thanks for
considering me.

Well, here's the situation: I think I can get Microsoft
Romania involved in this event. They did this once,
for Ken Levy, but I need to know if you agree with
this (don't ask why, but I suspect that you and/or
Mike could have somethign against MS. It's just a
hunch, I may be wrong).

Problem is $75 is a little high. Multiply it with 8-10
and you'll get the value in US terms. This summer's
Microsoft Summit (the most expensive event around) was
1 million ROL, which meant at that time about 30 USD.

However, I have reasons to believe that I can convince
MS to sponsor this event (conference room, food,
hotel, and so on). In this case the income could be
entirely yours, and maybe you can reconsider the price
and I am sure we'll get at least 70-100 attendees.
FYI, Ken Levy got 110 attendees in Bucharest, this
summer.

If you want, we can talk about this - my skype id is
GDOLGHIN, my Yahoo Messenger ID is GDOLGHIN.
Talking/Chatting is much faster than email.

Hi, John

I have an appointment set at MS Romania for monday,
January 16, 9:30 am. I'll let you know about the
result, but in the meantime it would be great if we'd
have a voice chat.

Thank you.

Hi, John

They were open to my proposals, however they said they
need to ask Munchen (MS Europe) or Redmond for funds.

The local community lead guy, Zoli Herczeg, said
(quote from memory) "FoxPro is not a priority
and I'm not getting funds for it". I'm not sure
they'll get any for this event, so I started my own
fund raising campaign, because entrance fee will not
be enough. I expect about 50-80 people to come, which
I'm pretty sure is not enough.

Basically, I need to obtain funds to rent a conference
room and to provide food for attendees (about
$20/person, which means two coffee breaks and lunch).
This way the entrace fees received from attendees will
be yours.

I'll let you know about this. I wasn't able to talk to
Will this weekend - he said he is willing to fund some
of the expenses. However, I know nothing more about
this and I don't really want to base this event on
promises - I'd like to secure some funds by my own.

Thank you
Grigore Dolghin.

Hi, John

I have good news: I have secured half of the required
funds; specifically - the catering (most important
expense  - $20 per attendee, up to 2000-2500 USD).
That means we can lower the entrance fee while keeping
the same income flowing.

I will continue looking for sponsors, in order to make
even easier for attendees to come. However a fee will
still exist, though - in my oppinion we're not in
position to make the event free.

I'm still waiting for agenda, please, whenever you
have time.

Thank you very much.
Grigore Dolghin.

P.S. Drop me a mail if you receive this message,
please.
Thanks. :)

Hi, John

More good news:

a) We have chosen the conference room. You can see it
yourself if you open www.romexpo.org, go to menu,
click "Tur virtual 360", in the combo select "Pavilion
2 - Sala Eminescu" and have a 360 degrees look.

It will be "Eminescu" or "Sadoveanu" conference room.
They are similar in size (200-400 places).

b) No worries about sound. The expositional complex
provide sound for a fee.

c) We will provide simultaneous translation service.
Headsets and the rest of logistics are available - I
just need to find a good translator, which I'm pretty
sure I can find easily.

d) Your hotel/dinner expenses are covered, thanks to
the sponsor I have found.

e) Final conference fee: 25 EUR/person. I have opened
the registration list yesterday evening and today I
already have 15 registrations.

f) I need to ask you if you're still planning multiple
conferences (you told me about Bulgaria, Ukrain and
Russia). Are they still on the table, or Romania is
your only destination?

Drop me a mail about this whenever you have time,
please.

Thank you very much.

Hi John

Thank you very much for the agenda. I have updated the
website's front page.

As far as I understand, this event may be in
contradiction with your current plans (I mean your
job). If this gives you headaches, please let me know
- it's not too late to cancel it.

Your last e-mail says nothing about Randy. Has this
changed? Are you coming alone?

Thank you.
Grigore Dolghin.

Hi John

We're close. :)

I need some informations, please:

#1. When you come and how many days you plan to stay (I need to make
hotel reservations)
#2. Were do you want to stay (if you have any hotel preferences. If
not, I'll choose a nice hotel for you).
#3. How much is the trip cost (I need this for sponsor)
#4. Anything else you need. I mean anything. We'll try to make it happen.

Meanwhile I've got a media partner, so the conference will be covered
in eWeek - a IT Business magazine here. I've had an interview today,
and they'll send a reporter at conference, in order to take you an
interview.

I am waiting for your answer.
Thank you.

suntem oare o comunitate valoroasa?

Citeva subiecte posibile, zic eu de interes general: "Pasi esentiali in abordarea unei aplicatii in Visual FoxPro", "Analiza - primul pas", "Utilizatorul cel de toate zilele - cum sa creem o interfata accesibila", "Parametrizarea unei aplicatii - cum sa muncesti odata si bine"

Re: Si americanii au românii lor.

Salutare. Well... urma sa avem un speaker. Nu mai vine? Paguba-n ciuperci. Acum avem DOI :) - Uwe Habermann si Venelina Jordanova.
